1 – Shark Classic Anti Hair Wrap Upright Vacuum NZ801UK & NZ801UKT: 1.6M
The Shark vacuum cleaner with the longest hose is the incredibly effective and popular Shark NZ801UK at a whopping 1.6 metre (m) long. This beats its nearest competition within the Shark upright range by around 7%.
The Shark NZ801UK combines a 1.6m extendable hose alongside an 8m cord giving you an excellent level of reach across the two.
Alongside the longest hose of the Shark upright range, with the NZ801UK you also get a vacuum cleaner with Shark’s signature Powered Lift Away technology.
This is a very handy feature which means you can use the machine as a lightweight portable device as well as a classic upright. We’ve found this feature to be absolutely brilliant in helping to quickly tackle areas where you need more flexibility like the stairs or curtains.
The ‘Powered’ portion of the Lift-Away differs from many other models as it means you can also you the powered floorhead whilst you have it in the portable mode which is very useful.
In addition, the NZ801UK also comes with Anti Hair Wrap technology which in effect is a bristle guard within the floorhead designed to actively remove tangled hair as you go about your cleaning work.
This is particularly useful if you have lots of hair including pet hair that tends to hang around your floors.
Shark NZ801UKT Pet Model
The other model that shares a 1.6m hose is the Shark NZ801UKT which is the exact same model but supplied with a Pet Power Brush which is designed to get pet hairs out of upholstery. It also comes in a different colour (Navy & Orange) versus the white and orange of the Shark NZ801UK.
2 – Shark Lift-Away Upright Vacuum NV612UK & NV612UKT: 1.5m
The next on the list of the Shark upright vacuums with the longest hose is the NV612UK at 1.5m which is the same as several others that we’ll go on to look at. Though less than the number one on the list (Shark NZ801UK & NZ801UKT), the NV612UK is not far off at all being only 10cm away.
The Shark NV612UK combines a 1.5m hose with the standard 8m cord to provide an excellent level of flexibility and reach well away from wherever you’re plugged in. For most people, the combination of these two will allow them to clean most rooms and in many cases floors from one or two plug points.
The Shark NV612UK also comes with Shark’s excellent Lift Away feature which allows you to use the vacuum as a portable model as well as an upright. From our experience, the Lift Away is a fantastic feature especially when tackling the stairs.
Shark NV612UKT Pet Model
As ever with Shark upright models you also get a pet version which is the exact same model but with a Pet Power Brush included and a different colour; Metallic Turquoise for the NV612UK and classic blue for the NV612UKT.
2 – Shark Anti Hair Wrap Upright Vacuum NZ690UK & NZ690UKT: 1.5m
Another Shark upright vacuum model with a 1.5m hose is the excellent Shark NZ690UK. Like all the others on the list it also has a 8m cord which alongside the 1.5m hose gives you very good reach across your home. Based on our experience we find we can most of each floor of the house from one socket with this setup.
We are big fans of the Shark NZ690UK. As well as the excellent cleaning reach the NZ690UK also has Shark’s Anti Hair Wrap technology which clearly makes a big difference in combating tangled hair. We see this when comparing how our Dyson cordless struggles with tangled hair. With Shark’s Anti Hair Wrap feature, you don’t see the same issues and can focus on keeping your home clean.
The Shark NZ690UK is also equipped with Shark’s signature Lift Away feature meaning it can from a 6kg upright vacuum down to a lightweight 3.8kg portable unit. If you’ve never used Shark’s Lift Away feature its difficult to understand quite how effective it is. It makes cleaning the stairs so much easier and the same goes for areas like the sofa, curtains and cobwebs off ceilings.
Shark NZ690UKT Pet Model
If you like the Shark NZ690UK but need a more pet-focused model then opt for the Shark NZ690UKT which comes with a Turbo Pet Brush for helping to get deep into your carpet and upholstery to get rid of pet hair. The Shark NZ690UKT comes in rose gold whilst the base model Shark NZ690UK comes in teal. These two features aside, the models are exactly the same.
2 – Shark Stratos Anti Hair Wrap Plus Anti-Odour Upright Vacuum NZ860UK & NZ860UKT: 1.5m
The Shark Stratos NZ860UK is another great upright with a 1.5m hose as well as an 8m cord but this model is also equipped with some new innovations from Shark.
Quite notably the NZ860UK comes with an Anti-Odour feature. This is a cartridge-based system which is designed to minimise dust cup odours that are typically caused by dirt, dust, hair and dander getting mingled up in your vacuum clean. With the Anti Odour feature, you can insert the cartridge into the floorhead and then select the level of intensity you need to fight the odours. Whilst you clean, ut will then emit a small amount of fragrance.
The other new feature is the Anti Hair Wrap Plus which is Shark’s most recent version of the highly effective Anti Hair Wrap system. Shark themselves describe this as their best-ever hair pick-up technology.
In addition, the Shark NZ860UK comes with not only the Lift Away but the Powered version which means when you switch to the incredibly useful portable mode you can also still use the powered floorhead.
Shark NZ860UKT Pet Pro Model
The Shark NZ860UK also comes in a Pet Pro Model (NZ860UKT) which comes with a Pet Tool to get rid of pet hair and dander in areas like your carpets and sofas. This aside the pet version has the same excellent features as the NZ860UK.
5 – Shark Classic Upright Vacuum NV602UK & NV602UKT: 1.45m
The last on our list of Shark vacuums with the longest hose is the Shark NV602UK that comes with a 1.45m hose. Though 5cm less than most of the others on the list and 15cm shorter than the first on the list (NZ801UK) this still gives you pretty good range especially when paired with an 8m power cord.
The Shark NV602UK is also the lightest model on the list at 5.25kg and seems well suited to serving those who don’t want anything too big and clunky though it can still get through a lot of cleaning with a 1.1L dust bin capacity.
Coming in a striking classic blue, the Shark NV602UK is a Lift Away model meaning you get the benefit of using it as a portable unit as well as an upright. You get to see the benefit of a long hose in the portable mode as you work your way around your home.
Shark NV602UKT Pet Model
The Shark NV602UK also has a pet model version which also comes with a pet tool. This is designed to tackle pet hair from areas like your sofa and stairs. Pet tool aside all the other features of the Shark NV602UKT Pet Model are the same as the NV602UK. The colours do differ though with the NV602UK coming in blue and the NV602UKT in red.
